MassDOT Hearing - Wed., December 31, 10:00 am
Posted Tuesday, December 30, 2014
As you probably are aware, as Governor Patrick is preparing to leave office, he has introduced new language into Massachusetts regulations, in an effort to validate TNCs like Uber, Lyft, and SideCar. Worse, part of the plan also includes a hearing tomorrow, New Year's Eve, where public comment can be heard. The NELA has had several meetings, last week and over this past weekend.  We are working with several organizations to combine efforts. Along with the TLPA and the NLA, we have sent a letter to Governor Patrick requesting the hearing be postponed. We received a quick response stating that the hearing will be held as planned. There are ongoing efforts that will at least bring to the public's attention the tactic of holding a hearing on New Year's Eve, but we are operating under the belief that this hearing will take place.

We need our Massachusetts operators to do three things ... immediately.

1.  Please plan on joining us at the hearing tomorrow, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, and lending your voice through oral comment. The hearing will be held at the State Transportation Building, 10 Park Plaza, 3rd Floor, Room 3830 MassDOT Board Room, in Boston. Plan to arrive early to get your name on the list of those wishing to testify.

2.  BEFORE 3:00 PM TOMORROW ... Please email your comments relative to the new regulations to

3.  Please email your comments from #2 to your local representatives and senators, the head of your local municipal government, such as the mayor or chairman of the town council.  You can find email addresses for your Massachusetts legislators here: Find Your Legislator

Let your voice be heard - don't let the TNCs win!
