DriverTrainer Courses, by Smith System

As the global authority on safe driving practices, Smith System trains tens of thousands of drivers each year, helping to prevent crashes and reduce fuel and maintenance costs, while preventing injuries and saving lives. 

This year, the NELA will be offering the Smith System's DriverTrainer Course to MA Operators for free. In the DriverTrainer course, your company’s operators and trainers learn how to demonstrate the Smith System methodology to provide personalized training to fellow operators. It's designed to ensure your in-house trainers are teaching the most effective safety content available.

This course covers:

• Fundamentals of the Smith System, including the safe driving concepts behind The Smith5Keys
• How to create a dynamic Smith5Keys presentation and foster a positive attitude in the classroom
• Developing on-road observation, demonstration and coaching skills
• How to properly evaluate a driver and fill out the Driver Evaluation Form to motivate and improve driver decisions and actions
